Spring Cleaning for Your Mind, Body and Soul

When opening a window in spring, feel that first fresh spring-like breeze.

It feels like nature is telling you: ‘Time to shake things up!’

But why stop at shuffling things around in your space when your mind and body could use a refresh, too? Just like clearing out a closet creates space for something new, a seasonal reset can refresh your energy, balance your hormones and help you feel lighter—physically and emotionally.

Imagine peeling away old habits like layers of winter clothes, stepping into a lighter, fresher version of yourself.

The meteorological spring has officially started on March 1st and while the mornings are still frosty, you can feel spring creeping in during the day—the sun feels a little warmer. I was eager to get back to playing hockey after six months off, excited for that feeling of movement and connection, but the frosty pitch had other plans in mind and my first game back was canceled! It was a reminder that nature moves at its own pace, but the shift is happening, and soon, spring will be in full bloom.

1. Spring Cleaning Your Mind: Letting Go of Mental Clutter

We all carry mental clutter—worries, self-doubt, and patterns that no longer serve us. Spring is a great time to create space for more clarity and positivity. Try these simple shifts:

  • Mental Snacking for Clarity – Small mindset shifts throughout the day, like a 1-minute gratitude pause, a deep-breathing exercise, or a mindful moment while sipping tea, can create a big impact over time. Read here more about Mental Snacking.

  • Journaling Detox – Take a few minutes to write down thoughts that feel heavy or stagnant. Then, either tear up the page or rewrite them into a more empowering narrative.

  • Hypnosis for a Fresh Start – Need a little extra help clearing out mental cobwebs? I've created a short, refreshing hypnosis session just for you. Think of it as a mini spa treatment for your mind—relax, reset, and step into spring with a fresh perspective!

2. Spring Cleaning Your Body: Refreshing from the Inside Out

  • Nourishing Your Liver for Natural Detox – Instead of extreme detoxes, support your liver by adding bitter greens (rocket, dandelion, watercress) and sulphur-rich foods (garlic, onions, cruciferous vegetables) to your meals.

  • Hydrate Yourself – Hydration, fiber and whole foods naturally help your body eliminate toxins. Try starting your morning with a glass of water and a squeeze of lemon for digestion support.

  • Move Like You Mean It – Shake off winter sluggishness by adding joyful movement into your day. Whether it's stretching in the morning sun, a walk in nature, or an impromptu dance break, movement wakes up your body and mind.

3. Spring Cleaning Your Environment: Creating a Space That Supports Well-being

  • Fridge & Pantry Reset – Take stock of what’s in your kitchen, swapping processed snacks for whole, nutrient-dense options. Stock up on colourful vegetables, healthy fats, and quality proteins.

  • Sleep Sanctuary Makeover – Declutter your bedroom, minimize blue light exposure before bed, and create a calming nighttime routine to support deep, restorative sleep.

  • Digital Detox – Clear unnecessary emails, unfollow social media accounts that don’t uplift you, and set healthy screen boundaries to reduce stress and mental clutter.

The Spring Clean & Shine Challenge

Imagine if spring cleaning your life was as fun as throwing open the windows, turning up your favourite song, and letting fresh energy fill your space.

Pick ONE small, playful change this week: maybe it’s dancing in your kitchen while prepping a meal, swapping your phone for a book at bedtime, or closing your eyes for a moment of calm breathing under the warm spring sun.

Benefits of a Spring Reset:

✅ More energy & mental clarity

✅ Balanced blood sugar & hormones

✅ Less stress & improved sleep

Important Reminder Before Your Hypnosis Session

For the best experience, find a quiet, comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed. Avoid multitasking—do not listen while driving or doing other activities. If you do get interrupted, simply attend to the issue and know that you can easily return to the session whenever you're ready. Relax, listen, and let the process support you.
